Aandachtsgebied: Interstitial lung disease, pulmonary hypertension, thymic pathology, lung malignances and research.
Duur: 12 weeks (range 3-6 months), minimum of 8 weeks for histology only. There is a possibility of combining the fellowship with research in case of which a minimum of 16 weeks

VU Universtity medical center is a regional and national reference center for diagnosis and treatment of lung cancer and interstitial lung disease.
THORACIC MALIGNANCIES
The core team, comprising dedicated specialists in pulmonary medicine, thoracic surgery, radiotherapy, radiology, nuclear imaging, and (molecular) pathology, closely collaborates in a multidisciplinary setting. The department of pathology has an archive of well-documented thoracic pathology cases, available to self study, instruction and teaching. New consultation cases arrive regularly, and students are invited to attend and participate in the diagnostic workup and/or evaluation. Moreover, weekly interdisciplinary boards on oncology and molecular tumorboard are available for active participation. Special attention can be payed to molecular pathology of lung cancer with a large (consultational) diagnostic practice.
INTERSTITIAL LUNG DISEASE
VUMC is a teritiaty referral center for interstitial lung disease with special accent of collagen vascular disease and pulmonary hypertension. Participation in a weekly interstitial lung disease board and monthly regional education meeting with a central role of histology are available for active participation. Possibility of joining the research in interstitial lung disease, pulmonary Sars-Cov 2 disease or pulmonary hypertension.
